Careful Managment and Study of Relations
Series of Collages 2013/2014

The work departs from the definitions of Economy (management of a house, careful management, thrift; administration of a community or establishment) and Ecology (study of the relations of plants and animals with their habitat), which come after one another in the Oxford Etymological Dictionary. These words were then exchanged with their possible definitions, and thereby poetical and strange sentences were formed, with meanings that are unexpected but also sometimes intuitively understandable. Ecology is, for example, related to affection, bring into connection, breath and the sole of the foot from the different definitions of study, animals and plants. And in the definitions of economy hands, horses, grief and burdened state of mind appear. The sentences are both inspirations for and the titles of the works. I have found images to representing each word and combined them so that they form a whole. The collages are visually connected by the use of both positive and negative forms where an empty space after a cutout might appear in the next collage.
